People facing social, economic or health inequalities, those with lower health literacy, and those with less access to local specialist cancer care may experience delays in diagnosis and worse outcomes
Tip aims to reduce — not widen — gaps in access to cancer information, understanding and support
This includes helping patients understand biomarker and genomic testing, and clinical trial opportunities where relevant to their diagnosis where access may vary

improving patient experience and outcomes — which brought him to TIP
With a strong interest in healthcare technology, he supports the development of digital tools that help patients understand their care, communicate with their teams, and navigate their cancer journey with greater confidence

Founder
Arabella is the founder of The Informed Patient
She has spent 25 years working in cancer, with many years of first-hand experience working with cancer patients — which, over time, is where the idea for TIP came from
Her work has focused throughout on reducing disparities and improving equal access to information and care in oncology
She built TIP to give every patient clear, personalised information, whatever their background
